Our Insight on the APC Smart-UPS Ultra Family
The APC Smart-UPS Ultra is a current online double-conversion UPS platform that combines lithium-ion batteries with newer power-electronics technology. The family spans approximately 1-10 kVA and represents a next-generation alternative to APC's SRT line. Its most distinctive advantage is physical flexibility: supported models can be deployed in rack, tower, wall-mounted, or under-cabinet configurations, making the Ultra useful where a conventional rack UPS will not fit.
The platform uses gallium-nitride semiconductor technology for fast, efficient switching, but both their use in power design and lithium implementation are relatively new in UPS applications, so long-term field history remains limited. These GaN transistors revolutionize UPSes to achieve up to 99% efficiency, reduce physical size by up to 50%, and operate without heavy cooling fans. But, GreenLight has seen a concerning level of returns and failures during the family's relatively short market life.
Buyers should weigh the compact design, flexible mounting, and modern feature set against that maturity and service risk.

Shipping & Delivery
Freight
Since most UPS systems are heavy, we ship most orders on pallets via freight carrier to your loading dock. Smaller systems under 70 lb may ship by FedEx or UPS. Contact us for special delivery requirements or shipments outside the continental U.S.
Work Process
Each UPS or system is retested before shipping to help ensure a smooth experience upon receipt. Most orders require 2–3 business days for preparation and testing. Contact us if you have special requirements or need expedited handling.

Unless otherwise specified, GreenLightUPS warrants equipment for 12 months from the date of purchase. Warranty claims require the end user to participate in diagnosis and troubleshooting with our technical team before resolution. Batteries are excluded from this Limited Warranty unless specifically identified as covered in writing at the time of sale.
