This is a new and in-the-package PocketWizard remote cable. It is the updated version which replaces the N90M-ACC-ND cable. This one is compatible with a few more camera models than the previous cable and was designed primarily for use with Nikon cameras with 10 pin connectivity. It's also compatible with Some Kodak DCS cameras and some Fuji cameras. It will work with PocketWizard Plus III, FlexTT5 and MultiMAX remotes.
Please do your research and make sure that this is the cable that will work with your equipment. PocketWizard has the same UPC number and US catalog number on two completely different cables. The differences are subtle visually but which equipment each one works with is different. Newer one has gold connectors on the ends and the shape of the mini connector housing is different.
These were invaluable when setting up remote cameras especially in sporting events. Usually you have to set up remotes hours ahead of the actual event and almost all cameras are set to "sleep" after a period of time to conserve battery power. These cords were designed to simulate touching the shutter button to "wake" the camera without physically touching your camera. If remote cameras were not woken up, they wouldn't fire and you'd get nothing from them.
