"Influencia" features the perfect mix of original songs, covers, and new versions of previously released tracks, such as the classic "Encuentro con el diablo" (Encounter with the Devil) by Serú Giran, and the title track of the album, a cover of the song "Influencia" by the great American musician Todd Rundgren. Accompanying García were great musicians such as guitarist María Gabriela Epumer, drummer Mario Serra (Virus), and Tony Sheridan, the British guitarist who recorded with the Beatles in their early days in Germany.
"Tu vicio," "I'm not in love," "Influencia," and "Mi nena" were the standout tracks from an album that remains relevant and is recognized as one of the best of García's later creative period.
With this album, Charly experienced his creative rebirth, recovering his talent for creating hits without abandoning his experimentation, remaining the controversial and irreverent artist he always was.
