This is quite something. Handpainted but not signed, a very large French 18th century oval dish with a mark suggesting its Sevres circa 1770.
There is no damage to it. The gilding is rubbed. It measures 39.5cm across and 28.5cm by 4cm deep.
It’s quite a heavy piece of porcelain. It’s really stunning! It reminds me very much of Derby porcelain with its blue and gilt border. It’s sitting very happily in my collection so I’m not in a rush to sell but I’m also happy to welcome suggestions of factories if not sevres.
