The Boya BY-PVM3000S is a professional shotgun microphone set designed for filmmaking, TV broadcasting, media production, sports commentary, and more.
With its supercardioid polar pattern, the BY-PVM3000S effectively filters out unwanted background noise from the sides and rear. The longer the microphone capsule used, the narrower the pickup angle – allowing the PVM3000 series to focus precisely on the intended sound source.
The built-in low-cut filter switch on the preamplifier helps eliminate low-frequency noise from sources such as air conditioning or traffic. Simply activate the low-cut mode to clean up your recordings.
The BY-PVM3000 series features a 3-pin XLR connector. For use with DSLR cameras that have a 3.5mm mic input, an XLR female to TRS audio cable is required. For use with camcorders that have XLR inputs, or with professional recorders and audio interfaces, an XLR female to male balanced cable is needed.
Compared to the BY-PVM3000M and BY-PVM3000L, the PVM3000S has the widest pickup angle of approximately 70 degrees. It captures higher volume and more ambient sound, making it ideal when the sound source is very close to the microphone.
