The Writings of Thomas Jefferson This listing is for the first 18 (of 20) volumes of the Library Edition, containing Jeffersonautobiographical notes on Virginia, Parliamentary Manual, Official Papers, Messages and Addresses, and Other Writings, Official and Private.  Collected and published in their entirity for the first time, including all of the original manuscripts, deposited in the Department of State and published in 1853 by Order of the Joint Committee of Congress, with numerous illustrations.  Published in 1903 by the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Association, Washington, D.C.

Hardcovers, no dust jackets (as issued), 8vo with blue-green buckram boards, paste-down title blocks on the spines, top edge gilt, heavily deckled outer and bottom edges, two title pages, labelled tissue protected frontispieces and illustrations, fold-out copies of correspondence.  Volumes are in good+ to very good condition.  Text is clean and unmarked with no foxing or yellowing.  Former owner’s bookplates inside the front covers and an occasional edge tear, probably related to the cutting of the pages. Covers have general wear including faded title blocks, and light edge and corner wear.
