PLANT DESCRIPTION:
This variety is a great border / cottage garden plant, also fantastic as cut flower.
I brought some mother-plants ages ago from Spain but they were not labelled so I am unable to tell the exact name of this variety.
However, after years of growing I learned that they are more robust than common Peony varieties and survive anything BUT OVER WATERING, they are also fully resistant to even hardest frost.
I have never seen this variety offered in the UK, the flower heads are huge, plants develop lots and lots of new blossoms and flowers stay fresh much longer that usually by Peonies.
Flowering:
FROM NEXT SEASON May - June / July, lots and lots of strong
scented, huge double PURPLE blooms, great
eye catcher!
Flower heads are approximately 20-22 cm
in diameter.
Some pictures were taken late night and the other two by day light, therefore difference in colour but pictures show the same variety.
VERY QUICK and EASY growing variety,
grows very bushy and does not need any special care or attention.
Very tolerant to any weather condition, very hardy.
It will grow practically anywhere in ordinary well-drained garden soil, EVEN IN CLAY/ LOAM/ SAND / CHALK.

Cut right back largest stems and flower stems after flowering in autumn when younger stems & leaves start to turn yellow / dry.
