Vintage original release 1940 8x10 film publicity production still photograph of legendary director Alfred Hitchcock at the very beginning of his American Hollywood career after emigrating from the UK, reviewing costume sketches with Joan Fontaine for the 1941 film "Suspicion". With studio and photographer's credit stamp, + publication stamp on verso for this RKO publicity photo. They are reviewing and approving both original unique costume sketches, presumably by Edward Stevenson, and wardrobe continuity photos of Fontaine in costumes. Photo measures approx 8 x 10 inches, as printed by studio for publicity publication and distribution, and is in original generally unhandled condition, showing only traces of age, tiny creases and corner chip, lower left corner creasing plus damp waving at lower margin from remnant of absent press snipe. Fiber based gelatin silver print, over 80 years old. No reprints or reproductions of any sort. I am happy to combine shipping, one charge for any amount of photos purchased within a 2 week period.
