We are pleased to offer this breathtaking Royal Vienna 19th Century finely hand-painted framed cabinet plate of Queen Cleopatra crafted from high quality porcelain in Austria and signed by F. Kopler.
Description: A very fine Royal
Vienna cabinet plate portraying the Egyptian queen of the Ptolemaic dynasty, Cleopatra,
famous in history and drama as the lover of Julius Caesar and later as the wife
of Mark Antony. The central portrait showcases
a classical setting of Cleopatra, likely referencing her death, depicting
Cleopatra reclining on a bed with two figures attending to her, one kneeling
and the other standing. The plate is adorned with a radiant, ornate border featuring
geometric patterns and floral beaded motifs with a color palette of gold, burgundy
red, pink, purple and blue beautifully encased in a 14” square ornate gilt
frame.

Hallmarks / Authenticity: FRONT:
signed by artist “F. Kopler” on lower left, BOTTOM: blue underglaze beehive
mark that was used from 1864 onwards and titled “Cleopatra” in black script.
