This copy is a hardcover edition with no dust jacket, as intended. Coming in at exactly 500 pages, Axelrod has filled the book with hundreds of pictures from all eras of Heifetz's life. Almost every other page contains one or more photos. There is also plenty of rich and well-written text. Where many of the editions available are more recent, this is a first edition of the book, written in 1976.

This particular copy is in very good minus to good plus condition. The binding is still good in tight, though there are one or two places where it is a bit worn open. There is some staining or discoloration on the bottom of the book near the beginning, and again on the side of the book in a few places. I noticed absolutely no writing, highlighting, or marking of any kind within the book.
