SAFLAX - Organic - Chili - Piccante Cilieglia - 10 seeds - With germ-free growing substrate - Capsicum annuum
Satan's Kiss in Italian Sharpness level 5 / 15000 Scoville
With germ-free and air-permeable coconut fiber substrate for successful cultivation.
Useful information: An old variety, also called Baccio de Satana, which produces small, round and hot chillies in the shape of cherry tomatoes that ripen from green to red. Varieties up to heat level 5 are suitable cut in a salad and filled with minced meat or cheese and then gratinated. Spicy varieties are added in smaller amounts to stews, stir-fried vegetables, goulash and bean dishes. Removing the seeds and inner skin reduces the sharpness. Be sure to wear gloves when preparing chili.
Natural location: Tropical Central America.
Successful cultivation: Propagation between January and March is recommended so that the plant bears fruit in the first year. First let the seeds soak in room-warm water for 24 hours to increase germination and then place them half a centimeter deep in coconut fiber substrate or organic vegetable soil. Keep the growing substrate moist but not wet by moistening it daily with a spray bottle. Cover the culture vessel with cling film, which you provide with holes. This protects the substrate from drying out. You should remove the foil for 2 hours every two to three days. This prevents mold from forming on the substrate. Place the culture vessel in a light and warm place with a temperature between 22° and 30° Celsius. The first seeds should germinate after three to ten days. Now remove the cover and keep the plants in as much light as possible (but not in the blazing midday sun) and a little cooler so that the young plants do not wither. As soon as the second pair of leaves develops, the plantlets can be pricked out (separately) up to the first leaf in small 10 cm pots with holes in the bottom and organic vegetable soil. Please make sure not to damage the still fine roots and to water the fresh soil lightly. In the coming weeks, the plants will then be gradually transplanted into larger and larger pots once they have rooted well in their previous pot. so that the young plants do not wither. The best location: As soon as it gets a little warmer, the plants can go outside during the day at at least 5° Celsius to harden off and get used to the sun. After the ice saints in mid-May, the plants can be transplanted to a sunny spot in the garden bed or in the tub.
Optimal care: Chili and pepper plants like it warm and humid, but not wet. Only water when the top layer of soil has dried and occasionally spray indoor plants from above. In contrast to tomato plants, it is not necessary to trim the side shoots with chillies and peppers. Contrary to popular belief, even the breaking out of the first flower (queen flower) has no effect on the development of the plant. If the plant is in good organic vegetable soil, the first fertilization with organic fertilizer is only necessary when the first buds appear.
In the winter: During the winter, the plant can stand a little darker and cooler at 10° Celsius and is then watered correspondingly less. In bright and warm locations, continue to care for the plant as before and prune it for a bushy growth in the coming year.
