Big round solid yellow area is for monogramming, applying a crest of arms, logo of a religious order, etc..so paid for designed to custom object,
colors chosen by client but for some reason either never presented, or completed (changed mind, not paid for?)
Or, reasons lost to history. Beautifully executed, gorgeous colors, well made, flawless, not a chip, crack, no damage, repairs as it left the Glass works in the 1890's, a few small scuff marks on flat polished base!
10.5" tall w-lid on, 7.25" w/o lid, 3.25" deep cup, 3" across rim flat polished nice, lid height=4.5" the actual cup is 4" wide, cup base leads to very rare bronze, with a gold dore finish stem piece 1" holds cup to base of flared out 4.25" flat polished, rare beauty!!
