This book is the story of The Women's Company
(TWC) based on documents and members' accounts. It contributes to the herstory of the professional lesbian experience, specifically in Southern California. This was particularly critical in times when there were far fewer opportunities and safe spaces available for
women "like us" to meet. The stories of the women who founded the organization in 1975, when TWC was known as The Hunt Club, are shared within this work. This book tells the tale of how a group of professionally accomplished lesbians empowered themselves by forming and sustaining their social connections with each other. The Women's Company has survived for over four decades and has been a place where lesbians from all walks of life can socialize and develop connections with each other.
