Mapeheat Membrane is a lightweight uncoupling, crack-isolation, and waterproofing membrane that also provides vapor management and load support. It is the ideal membrane for the installation of in floor heating cables. This cutting-edge product is designed to meet all your flooring underlayment needs. It guarantees efficiency, durability, ease of use, and high performance for any home improvement project. This patented membranes thin profile works well with remodeling projects where the new floor will be installed directly over a preexisting one. Once the heating cable is set within Mapeheat membranes rounded square reliefs, a tile thinset mortar adhesive can be applied immediately. It helps to prevent transmission of in-plane substrate cracks up to 1/8" (3 mm). This polypropylene membrane thickness is less than 1/4" (6 mm). Mapei Mapeheat uncoupling membrane (floor mats) simplifies the installation of the heat cable, ensuring it lays flat and securely in place. It is a superior option for bathroom decor, room decor, kitchen decor, home decor, and other home improvement needs. The Mapei Mapeheat tile underlayment membrane can be used in home renovation, kitchen tile flooring, and DIY projects of any scale. It guarantees durability, aesthetics, and reliability, making installation a breeze. This infloor uncoupling layer (floor mat) can be used with ceramic tile, vinyl tile, porcelain tile, cement tile, granite tile, marble tile, mosaic tile, natural stone tile, and linoleum tile. The Mapei uncoupling waterproofing and crack prevention membrane (heating pad) is ideal for use in the shower, hot tub surround, bathtub surround, laundry room, and living areas, where a heated floor is desired. It is recommended for use with polymer-modified mortars.

Choosing The Right Thin-set Mortar for Mapeheat Membrane Installation:

​Selecting the appropriate thin-set mortar is crucial for a successful installation of the Mapei Mapeheat Uncoupling Membrane. A polymer-modified mortar should be used both beneath the membrane and for adhering tiles on top. ​

Under the Membrane:
For bonding Mapeheat to the substrate, Mapei recommends using polymer-modified mortars such as Ultraflex 1 and Ultraflex 2. These mortars provide excellent adhesion between the membrane and substrate, ensuring proper bonding. ​

Over the Membrane:
When installing tile over the Mapeheat membrane, large-and-heavy-tile mortars are ideal. Products like Ultraflex LHT, Ultraflex LFT, Ultraflex LFT Rapid, and Ultraflex LHT SG are recommended. These mortars are specifically formulated to support the weight of large-format tiles and prevent sagging during installation. ​
