The backing board that was used is so much fun, but it is too bad someone didn't remove it when they restained the frame.
Dorothy Paul was born in Bellingham, Washington in 1909. She painted this at 19 years old in 1929 but then got married to George Bellamy in 1933 and had a family. She lived in Seattle and was divorced, later to marry Bill Anderson in 1958. She moved back to Bellingham and lived there until the end of her life.
This painting was purchased about 30 years ago at an antique store in Bellingham.
