I make these crosses from solid cedar. They are made from 5 1/2" wide by 1/2" thick cedar plank with a rough finish. They intersect with a half lap carve out and are screwed together in the back. I make them in a burned "Shou Sugi Ban" finish. With these, I spray a flat Polyurethane finish over the char to keep the black from rubbing off. I use a CNC router to cut in the designs and cross over pockets.
The crosses come with a hanging loop on top. They are shipped disassembled to save on shipping costs. All that is required once you get it is to install 8 small screws in the back through the pre-drilled holes for assembly. This cross comes in 3 pieces.
These make a great addition to a rustic themed home. They are light weight and have a nice cedar smell.
