This is an absolutely superb professional quality lens, built to last for ever if looked after, the images have that 3D effect that pop out at you, and have that unmistakeable "Minolta colour". I can see absolutely no difference in image quality between this lens and the white high speed version, yes technically the white version is faster focusing but in the real world the difference is almost impossible to detect although the sheer torque that goes through the lens may take a little getting used to.

It may not carry the G name but it is very much a G grade lens in every way, in use there is no doubt that you are using a very high quality piece of equipment indeed. The black paint does not chip or peel off unlike it`s faster brother and is more discreet when out and about, all together a Rolls Royce of a lens and a must have for any serious Sony/Minolta user.
