High Power Collimated 405nm UV Laser Diode Module Up to 1.5W Sharp GH04W10A2GC
Collimated 405 nm laser diode module, extracted from high-brightness laser-phosphor video display units. Each module contains a Sharp GH04W10A2GC multimode 405 nm laser diode (standard 5.6 mm can) pressed into a copper heat spreader, a glass aspheric collimating lens (similar to the popular G-2, AR coated for 405 nm), an anamorphic correction lens, and an AR-coated glass block that a tiny built-in stepper motor (NMB PM10S-020-ALJ2) can rotate to shift the beam a few mm left or right without changing the aiming. The diodes are rated 350 mW CW and 1100 mW pulsed but are quite capable of being overdriven: guaranteed to produce 1.5 W or better at a maximum of 1.1 A (the wavelength shifts up to 410–412 nm at 1.5 W).

Used, extracted from display units, guaranteed to meet the advertised specs. The on-board driver board has an unusual interface, so you will need your own driver for about 1 A at 5.0 V compliance (a SparkFun FemtoBuck jumpered for 660 mA drives these to nearly 1 W). The collimating lens is glued in; to reuse it elsewhere, warm the epoxy with a hot-air gun and press it out with something soft.
