Early Jerusalem machine cancels: 29 OCT 1951 official mail cover from the Foreign Currency Department in TEL AVIV to Bank Leumi in JERUSALEM, franked 15pr per the DO-2 period letter rate using an overprinted Official Mail stamp (Ba 20b) tied by the local postmark & backstamped next day arrival using the scarce 2nd machine cancel type (Nacht-289/22; EG-76, about which he writes "not many covers struck with this seem to have survived since not many are seen"), about 2 months after Nachtigal/Fixler's latest known date of usage & less than 2 weeks before the introduction of the 3rd machine cancel which replaced it; slit open at top. Official mail was not free of postage during the period 1 Feb 1951 and 30 June 1952.
