Macau Post (CTT) Suspends Parcel Delivery to the United States in Response to Global Postal Restrictions
Portugal Post (CTT) has announced that, effective immediately, it will suspend parcel delivery services to the United States and Puerto Rico. Only letters, documents, and gift mail valued at no more than USD 100 will continue to be accepted.
This measure aligns with several other national postal operators—including Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Nordic countries, India, and Australia - that have also suspended general parcel deliveries. The reason is that, starting August 29, 2025, the United States will abolish its long-standing “de minimis” exemption threshold, meaning all shipments valued below USD 800 will now be subject to taxation.
Currently, the only courier companies available for sending parcels from Macau to the United States are SF Express and Macau DHL (UPS is the most expensive option and not recommended).
Therefore, please understand that shipping costs have temporarily increased. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
