This is for an original program from the June 16 1979 fight between middleweights Curtis Parker and Willie “The Worm” Monroe at the Spectrum in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Willie was on the downside of his career and would lose a 10 round unanimous decision to Parker and would only fight 3 more times in his career. On the undercard was a great battle of the bulls with Jerry “The Bull” Martin taking on Willie “The Bull” Taylor. Jerry Martin would become best known for going into Rahway prison on Memorial Day of 1980 and defeat up and coming prospect James Scott on National television. An extremely rare program, and with the new 1.00 price tag, the program contains many more pages than the earlier 25 cent programs from the Spectrum. The program also features great Philadelphia stars such as Matthew Franklin and Reggie Leach, along with a story about Mike Rossman. A great and rare program from a time when the Spectrum was not only the center of Philly inside sports and concerts, but there was also enough talent in the area to be able to have weekly boxing shows with some of the best boxing talent in the country, almost all hailing from Philadelphia. The program is clean and unscored.
