Vintage, circa 1920-1940, high end all brass entry lock #7705 1/2 by Sargent. Push button cylinder entry lock comes with a new brass Superior lock cylinder and two keys and with a brass strikeplate. Push button entry mortise has been restored.
MORTISE FACE: Mortise lock has a Japanned face plate with a length of 7 1/2" and a width of 1" and thickness of 1/4".
BACKSET: Backset (the distance from the front edge of the face plate to the center of the knob post hole is 2 3/4".
BOX: The box measures 3 7/8" from the front edge of the brass faceplate to the back of the box and 5 1/2" from top to bottom.
SCREWS: Screws are on 6 3/4" centers.
DROP: The drop from the center of the cylinder lock opening down to the center of the knob post hole is 3 7/8".
FUNCTIONALITY: Designed to be used with a turn knob from each side of the door.
KNOB POST or KNOB SHAFT: The lock accommodates a split post shaft with a 5/16" opening on both sides of the cam.
REVERSIBILITY: The lock is reversible. Check out the photo to determine the set up you need for the lock and let us know before we ship, we can change the set up of the plunger and the cylinder for you before we pack.
KEY: The lock comes with the two keys and it works well from either side of the door. Also comes with a brass strikeplate.
