Excellent condition antique handmade pottery jug found in North Carolina Mountains, USA. Handwritten markings on the bottom CX /50 Pre 1950 early 1900s era from the North Carolina region. One pint cork top high finger loop brown leaning to the rust orange coloration hand applied glaze with no chips, cracks or crazing. Very nice decorative primitive collectable pottery jug. Unglazed bottom has minor aging, not much very clean old jug. Glaze has a nice sheen with hand crafted qualities. I have tried to reshearch the markings but as of now no certain information on them. Possible and most likely a numbered edition with batch or Initials, but no X starting letter in a name information. Measurements are approximately 5 3/4 inches tall, 3-3/4 inches across the widest point, slight taper downward to 3-1/4 inch across the bottom. Stoneware pottery with a hand smoothed bottom seam.
