This is for an original ticket stub from the May 18 1968
baseball game played between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros at Dodger
Stadium in Los Angeles. Dodgers Hall of Fame pitcher Don Drysdale would hurl
his second consecutive shutout beating Dave Giusti 1-0 with both pitchers
giving up just 5 hits each. Giusti however would give up a leadoff hit to Wes
Parker in the sixth inning, and after a sacrifice and groundout moved him to
third base, Ken Boyer would hit a grounder to shortstop Hector Torres who would
boot the ball for an error allowing Parker to score the games only run. This
would be Drysdale’s second consecutive shutout of the year on his way to a
Major League record of 6 consecutive shutouts, a record that will never be
broken. I also have a PSA holdered stub from Drysdale’s sixth consecutive
shutout for sale on ebay. Only 2 stubs from this game have ever been graded by
PSA with one being graded authentic and the other garnering a PSA 5. A great
ticket for any Dodgers or Drysdale fan, or someone trying to collect all six
shutout stubs. A must have for any ticket collector.
