Robert Mapplethorpe Self-Portrait 1980 photo print graphic t-shirt for Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA,) black cotton knit, long-sleeved. Men's/unisex size M. The 100% combed cotton knit, crewneck, ribbed cuff t-shirt--made in the U.S.A. by American Apparel-- features a square black and white photo print, a self-portrait from 1980, on the front of the shirt, by the renowned late photographer.

Per the Tate Museum, in the portrait, "Mapplethorpe portrays himself as the archetypal bad boy, with black leather jacket, dark shirt, cigarette hanging out of the corner of his mouth, the coolly appraising gaze and the carefully coiffed 1950s-style hair. Mapplethorpe was keen to promote this image of himself as cool and impervious to emotion. The composition helps to underscore this. The pose is wholly frontal and composed so that his mouth lies at the very centre of the photograph."

The t-shirt is in excellent pre-owned condition, showing little wear or washing. Graphics are strong. Quite nice.
