This is a very good copy of the Ballantine Books softcover 1997 First Edition of John Irving's Epic 1985 best seller The Cider House Rules that would go on to become a 1999 Academy Award winning film starring Toby MaGuire, Michael Caine and Charlize Theron.  The book is signed and inscribed in ink by John Irving across the entire Title Page; "Dear Peter - Sincerest Good Luck...and may our political differences pass. Fondly, John." This is the First  BallantineTrade edition and first printing with the full number line ending in "1". 8vo. 560 pages - Just light edgewear with a small crease to the corners, some foxing along the upper edge and a bit of toning to the outer edges of the interior pages. Overall, a very good later printing of The Cider House Rules signed and inscribed by the author.
