A giclee print (archival inkjet print) of a digital copy of the original San Francisco Exposition City Map of 1912, printed on Arches watercolor paper. This version is a color proofing test run with a green+pinkish tint. This was a project of my father and myself that was left unfinished, incomplete from 2000. We had an original 28" x 42" print from the 1912 print run, mounted on linen and sold to David Rumsey who has it on display at the David Rumsey Stanford Map Center at Stanford University.

This print and subsequent color proofing experiments I have listed here on Ebay were experiments with new digital print technologies as of the year 2000. They are nice examples of what could be printed at the time, have nice detail and good over all appeal for any map aficionado.

Check out these other color variants, they are discounted as unique experiments and are a bargain.

From David Rumsey:

Author: North American Press Ass'n

Date: 1912

Short Title: The Exposition City San Francisco. 1912.

Publisher: Pingree-Traung Co. Lith.

Publisher Location: San Francisco

Type: Wall Map

Obj Height cm: 72

Obj Width cm: 108

Note: This map provides a detailed view of the extraordinary rebuilding of downtown San Francisco only six years after the devastating earthquake and fire of 1906. Just a few lots remain unbuilt. It is a scarce map that was issued in two forms: on thin paper as a folded map with the Supplement to the San Francisco Standard Guide, and on thicker paper unfolded (our copy, linen backed as a wall map). A reduced size reproduction of the copy at the San Francisco Society of California Pioneers Library was issued in 1968 (see our 10016.000). The Panama Pacific Exposition of 1915 is shown prospectively.
