Note: The motorised Tomy and Trackmaster trains and tracks operate to the same gauge (track width). Except for very steep inclines and certain 'stunt' features on specific track sets, each engine type will happily run on the other track type.
Any engines marked with an asterisk* no longer move so are for spares or repair.

Edward / Murdoch each have a rare design whereby the battery is stored in the tender. With Edward, power is passed through to the engine by a wire. With Murdoch, the tender itself provides the motion.
- Edward: the coupling and electrical wire have both broken. It is for spares or repair.
- Murdoch: the coupling has broken but the tender will still move; however pushing the main engine itself can be unstable. Instead, watching a tender run around on its own is quite novel!
