Anecdotally speaking, the DVD remains perhaps the ultimate approach to archive your entire linear tape-based format in either analog or digital. (VHS, Hi-8, MiniDV or the like) video recordings of your life's most precious moments captured in time! (Wedding, First Born, Christmas, Retirement, Bar-Mitzvah and other Surprises!) These memories are irreplaceable and deserve a reliable medium of transfer in self-keeping and posterity for generations to come! The venerable shiny Disc's integrity has stood-the-test-of-time! It will most likely out-live and out-perform the unpredictability and volatility of the ubiquitous hard-drive any day!

The DVR-550 is one of the better version of any model and I must say I have literally tried almost all recorders available on the market to-date and will surely put similar products to shame! Perfect for uninterrupted live event recording implementation...just add a camera and perhaps a video mixer: Videonics mx-1, mx-3000, Panasonic wj-mx12, Edirol V4 (also available for sale if interested) and have a professional result on a DVD to treasure forever!

I can't endorse this product enough, I own many!

Bench tested and all functions work, given a good bill of health ready to put into service for your next A/V project.

In an effort utilizing my vertical spaces to efficiently maximize and save precious studio real state, there may be some traces of almost inconspicuous top rash due to stacking and moving around overtime as shown in images. But won't deflect your appreciation for its exceptional aesthetic state nor impede normal operation.

Compatible remote included. The original box and packing materials are no longer available. The owner's manual assumed misplaced but will include in the sale if found.
