Robot Recorder 24. A 35mm film camera with a square 24x24 format. It can be considered a body without the viewfinder, derived from the Robot Royal 24.
This is a unique model within the Robot series, featuring a spring-wound mechanism for continuous shooting. It was designed primarily for research, industrial, or military use, and does not include a rangefinder, viewfinder, rewind knob, or back door locking mechanism.
For military versions, notable examples include the Swedish military version with the Three Crowns engraving, similar to the Leica IIIg, and the Danish military version with handwritten markings.
The lens uses a dedicated spigot mount with a single-cam type on the body. Two-cam lenses can also be used. Lens attachment and removal are done using a lever located at the bottom of the mount.
The included lens is a Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar 45mm f2.8. Although this lens is designed for the Robot Recorder 36 or Robot Royal 36 with a 24x36 format, it can be mounted on this single-cam body and used without issue. However, note that two-cam lenses cannot be mounted on a single-cam body. Please be aware!
