SYNOPSIS:The third poetry collection of Charles Edward Eaton, published by Twayne Publishers in 1955 as part of the Twayne Library of Modern Poetry series. Eaton - born in Winston-Salem, NC, educated at Harvard under Robert Frost - was by this point an established voice in American poetry, and this collection drew the attention of William Carlos Williams, who wrote a critical study of Eaton's work in the Arizona Quarterly in 1957. Eaton's poetry is marked by what one critic called its combination of the conventional and unconventional - long, free lines and sometimes forceful imagery pushing against formally structured stanzas in a way that becomes entirely the poet's own. First edition hardcover in original dust jacket, 64 pages.
