The ticket stub has a verticle crease through the center. There are two good corners with only light wear otherwise.  Pictures were taken to assist with the condition and content of the stub.

The 1961 Dixie 400 was held at Atlanta International Raceway on September 17th.  Fireball Roberts would lead the 42-car field to the green flag in front of 30,000 fans.

This race had a wild ending.  Banjo Matthews had a 15-second lead with five laps to go but blew a motor.  Fireball Roberts took the lead but ran out of gas with two laps to go.  Bunkie Blackburn, driving relief for Junior Johnson, took the lead on the white flag lap but ran out of gas on the backstretch.  David Pearson took the lead and would win the race after protesting the finish, which initially credited Johnson//Blackburn with the win.

Officially finishing second was Junior Johnson, followed by Fireball Roberts, Jack Smith, and Richard Petty.
