Vintage Paring Knife with Carbon Steel Blade, Bolster, & Wood Handle Made by C. Johnson & Company

C. Johnson & Company was founded in Sheffield, England.  Like many of Sheffield cutlery firms, the early history of C. Johnson & Company is a little unclear.  

This is the high end quality knife produced from the Sheffield region in England.  Sheffield is renowned for manufacturing of fine swords, knives, scissors, and razors.

It has the the blade hand forged from the fine carbon steel blade and tempered to achieve greater toughness providing the long-lasting keen edge cut-ability.  The handle is double pinned over the full tang and single bolstered to good fitting for durability, strength, & balance.

Maintenance Suggestion:  Hand wash only in warm water after using, especially if used on foods that have acidic sauce/liquid.  After washing it, wipe the blade and handle completely dry.  Use of electric knife sharpener or dishwasher not recommended.
