This is a bottle of early formula Antaeus pour Homme EDT by Chanel.  It is 100 ml (3.4 fl oz) and I have confirmed with backlighting that it is 100% full.  Comes unboxed. The print is painted directly on the glass, and there are no other markings around the bottle except for CHANEL and the volume embossed on the base.

Sadly, as I carried the bottle to my desk, it slipped and landed on our ceramic floor.  Once I recovered from the horror, I was happy to find the glass was completely fine, no chips or cracks.  However, the already scuffed cap broke into two pieces.  Sometimes it stays together when I pull it off and sometimes it separates.  Either way, it still protects the spray button.  And the juice inside is safe and sound.  Please see photos.  GUARANTEED TO BE 100% AUTHENTIC.

Unfortunately, back in the day we had no idea how important a role packaging would play in deciphering formulas in the future, so the box is long gone.  And worse yet, there is not a batch code to be found on this or my other bottle of Antaeus.  So we are left to determine the age of the formula ourselves.  I sprayed my arm yesterday and I believe this is an early 1990’s formula.  It is bold as is its dry down, but it is ever so slightly less bold than the unmistakable first formula.
And it is certainly bolder than the more polite current formulations.

Antaeus is a beautiful, classically handsome earthy chypre scent, woody-baritone in timbre with glorious animalic, leathery and herbal accents. Not only that, but it's classically built into an arc of progressing accords which keeps one engrossed till the very end. (Perfume Shrine)
