Japan, Meiji Period, with an Inscribed Original Box.

This is a high footed beautiful round corners dark brown square lacquer

box painted in gold with a stylized floral scroll around edge of the cover,

and also painted in gold with stylized seaweeds and Shellfishes under cover.

It’s in very good condition, it measures 11 1/4” across and 4 3/4” h.
