Narcisse Noir by Caron is an Oriental floral fragrance for women that was launched in 1911. The nose behind this fragrance is Ernest Daltroff. Top notes are narcissus and African orange flower; middle notes are jasmine, orange and tincture of rose; base notes are sandalwood, vetyver and musk.

By insisting that the set of Billy WILDER’s film Sunset Boulevard be flooded with her favorite scent, actress Gloria SWANSON helped make Narcisse Noir a legend.  The title of the 1947 film Black Narcissus refers to this very perfume.
