This is a lot of 4 special Dale Earnhardt #3 Chevrolet Monte Carlo 1/64 scale diecasts. These are all paint schemes from The Winston; the all-star race that has been an exhibition non-points race usually held on or around Mothers Day. All cars were out of the Richard Childress Racing team. These special edition models represent some of the paint schemes and sponsors that replaced the familiar black paint that Dale ran on the 3 car for the points races.
The 1996 Olympic logo, red white and blue scheme celebrated the 1996 Summer Olympics held in Atlanta. Dale drove this car at Charlotte Motor Speedway for one race in May of 1996. This dieceast was made by Revell. It has never been out of the box
There are 2 different Bass Pro gold paint schemes are from the 1998 The Winston race in May of 1998, also at Charlotte Motor Speedway. One of these cars has a hard shell plastic case and the hood opens. That one also comes with a certificate of authenticity in the box. The other Bass Pro car has a little stand for the car. Both are made by Revell and have never been out of the box.
The Peter Max paint scheme is from the 2000 The Winston. This one is pretty cool because the body comes off the chassis and you can see the roll cage and frame construction as well as the engine, gas tank and driver's compartment. This one was made by Action Performance Company and is numbered. The packaging on this one has turned yellow for unknown reasons. It has also never been out of the package.
If you want to add to your Intimidator collection, these one-race driven paint jobs and sponsors may be just what you're looking for.
