About the print:  The Indians of the Plains attributed great super-natural powers to the birds and animals that surrounded them.  In both good and bad times, the Indian, believing that certain creatures were emissaries of the force that ruled the universe, would call upon them, through prayer or trances, for divine intervention. None was more sacred than the White Buffalo.

About the Artist:  Ren's early Western paintings were well received, but the completion of "Mystic Warrior" and the popularity of its prints gave him wide national acclaim.  "I always wanted to paint a warrior in a misty, snowy scene and develop a horse and figure that would communicate the pride and heritage of the Native American.  I believe it was that mood and atmosphere, as well as the warrior himself, that people have responded to with such enthusiasm."......Chuck Ren
