This is an unfinished project, it was intended to be a duvet cover, however, it was never finished. So although it is new ( never used as an article of bedding) it is used ( It has remnants of threads and has been cut)
It is made of Toile de Jouy Le Balloon De Gonesse in yellow and blue.
Toile Le Balloon depicts the era where hot air balloons first started to be used, one landed on the Village of Gonesse where scared the residents mistaken it for a monster, they called for exorcisim, the other landed 20 miles from Paris on the plain of Nesles, this one carrying passengers was received by a delegation.
Le Balloon de Gonesse was produced by the Oberkampf factory Jouy, depicts 3- balloon scenes from events that took place in 1783. Originally produced on copper plates. This fabric comes from the Charles Burger factory that still uses 200 yr. old copper plates, the fabric is in excellent shape. One can do whatever one pleases with this "project"

63”length by 94”
No selvedges present. 3 separate 63" by 31” pieces perfectly stitched together matching the pattern with no mistake. It includes the undone piping in case buyer wants to make pillows.
This toile sells for $264 the meter.
