Please note I am NOT an expert on this item at all, so all this information is just my opinion you'll have to be the judge of this fantastic collectors item for yourself. I believe this is a World War 1 War Munitions volunteer cap badge. This fantastic badge is made of all brass. This cap badge is numbered 2697, which is fantastic. This item is made by J.R. GAUNT & SON Limited, MADE in LONDON, It also says WARRANTED FIRE GILT . this is a super cool badge with cannons in the front , and looks like it has a king's crown at the top and a small cross, sort of , it's a super cool World War I badge and it's definitely authentic. This item does not have a exact date on it, so I am not sure exactly when this is made, could be PRE World War I or after , I'm not really sure, but either way this is a fantastic find. This collector's item says right in the front volunteer War munitions, and it's also got the two cannons. This item was found on the east coast of the United States the Maryland area to be exact. This is exactly the way I found this fantastic collectors item, I didn't even clean off the dust or dirt , I just took pictures, this would be a fantastic item to clean up, if that's what you choose to do. This item is all brass , and is a fantastic find , and a great collectors item. This would be a fantastic gift for any collector or any collection.
