Neil Armstrong, Edwin Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins appear to be on a publicity visit and are waving from a helicopter door. The person standing plugged into the communications system is wearing a Coast Guard helmet.
The Coast Guard Helicopter is number 140*(cut off in photo). Interestingly, I cannot find a note of the role of the helicopter in this event in the Coast Guard list of helicopters with the first two numbers 14. However, if you look at the old newspaper articles, they are wearing the same suits, pins, and ties for an August 13, 1969 Chicago and New York City ticker tape parades. However, they often reused suits and ties for many different publicity events. It was quite a whirlwind of activity for the three of them after the moon landing. Aldrin wrote a good book sharing that experience (book is not in this listing).
