It was made by Banthrico of Chicago

This is a replica of the bank the artist, Paul Gauguin, carved into a coconut while in Tahiti in 1891. He saved coins in it for getting himself back to Paris


This design was inspired by the things and shapes that he looked at daily, leaves, flowers etc. On one end is what appears to be the face of a fish.
