This stunning antique French marionette which dates from the early 19th century is handmade of wood, has a straw filled body, wire joints and movable limbs which would have once had strings attached to them in order to make them move.
This articulated mannequin puppet figure which is a tall size at 61 cm high has a carved face with painted features such as a beard, original hand stitched clothing which include long trousers, velvet jacket with gold braid, an orange cape and has with a hanging loop to the top of his head.
A rare and collectible folk art marionette.
