The OG-208 wool sweater, often referred to as the "jungle sweater," was primarily used during the early stages of the Vietnam War. It is made from 100% olive green wool (OG-208) and designed to provide warmth in cooler conditions. This sweater was lightweight and typically worn under fatigues or jackets. Although functional, it absorbed moisture easily, making it heavier when wet. The OG-208 was a precursor to the lighter acrylic knits that were later introduced in military wear.
