Canoe sponsons look sharp, help keep a swamped canoe from sinking, and add stability.  Please do not order if you cannot be patient on delivery as these have a long lead time. There is only one supplier for these and they are slow! May take 30 days.

Price is for TWO sponsons.  Canoe is NOT included.  Shipping will be delayed 1 to  2 weeks after order date for order processing and item preparation, but tracking number may be uploaded sooner.

The material is Ethafoam.  It feels and looks like pool-noodle material, but is more durable.

Choose length and whether to include hardware using drop-down box.  Note that price changes as you change options.

The longer size ones are made from 2 pieces and the seam is visible -- same as on a new long canoe.  The seam may come apart in shipping because of the strain put on it by coiling the sponson to fit in the box.  That's okay. They bolt on and there are enough bolts to have a bolt on each side of the seam.  Original Gorilla Glue will work if you want to re-bond an open seam.

The hardware is nuts, bolts and washers.   The washers may be aluminum.  Two of the bolts may be eyebolts.  The idea is the eyes can  be on the inside of the canoe and a bungee can be stretched between them to form a paddle holder on each side ofhte cockpit.  The eyebolts will be plated steel, not stainless.

The Sportspal sponsons (this listing) are rectangular in cross-section, not like the Radisson sponsons which we also sell through other listings, which are rounded (semi-circular in cross-section).  Sportspal sponsons provide more flotation because of their greater volume.
They are very lightweight -- less than 2 lbs each.

Please be sure of what you are ordering.  These are not returnable.

Please note the possibility of slow turnaround time between ordering and expected shipment date and don't order if you cannot accept that delay.  We're sorry we can't always get a quick turnaround on this item.  We have them drop shipped from the manufacturer and they are lamentably slow sometimes.   (Sometimes they are fast, but not always.)
