Vintage M.C. Lilley Co. Knights of St. John Uniform Hat, dating to between1884 and 1920. The front is embroidered with a wreath and C K of W 19. The sides feature Knights of St. John buttons. The fabric feels like wool. The inside of the cap is lined and includes the M.C. Lilley Co. logo with PATENT APPLIED FOR beneath. The lining appears to be missing a band along the edge (photos 11 & 12). The basted stitches look like they should have been covered up with another piece of fabric. The brim is solid and is not bent or broken although there is a little bit of loss along the edges (photo 3). Overall, this uniform hat is in good, used, antique condition. The approximate circumference measurement inside the hat is 22-1/4 inches, which would make this hat a 7 to 7-1/8. However, we used a tailor's measuring tape and that is only an approximation. We will send this the least expensive way that includes tracking and insurance.
