HOUDINI PERIODICAL BIBLIOGRAPHY by Arthur Moses 

Hardback FIRST EDITION  (H & R Books,  publisher, 2006)

This is a highly specialized book -- because as the title states, it is a "bibliography".  (You remember, those things you hated having to do for your homework reports in high school and college!)   And as the title also states, it is a "Periodical Bibliography" of almost every time that Houdini was covered in magazines and periodicals.    It goes from 1898 to 2005.

(This is the first edition of this book, published in 2006.  There have been a 2nd and 3rd edition of this book, which do add some bibliographical references from after 2005.)

The book includes some beautiful and interesting color prints of historic periodical covers featuring Houdini, and some B&W illustrations also.   But as you can see in the last photo, the format is mostly listings of periodical issues, dates and page numbers.   

As you would expect, many many of the entries are from popular magic periodicals like Genii, M-U-M, The Linking Ring, The Sphinx, etc   But also come surprising entries for magazines like Forbes, The National Enquirer, Jewish Chronicles, Harpers, even Penthouse!    This book is an incredible reference is you really want to dig into finding out little known info about Houdini, but you have to do the leg-work yourself to find the source.

Most sellers listings are for the 2nd or 3rd edition of this book.  I did find one seller listing this H&R hardcover 1st edition for $70.   But I will price this one closer to the current price of the newer editions.
