The stools feature a unique swiveling, spherical seat made from injection-molded plastic, supported by an adjustable column on a chromed-steel base. In 1997, the manufacturer Magis commissioned designer Stefano Giovannoni to create a stool that would utilize their surplus of pistons, leading to the creation of the Bombo, which remains popular today.
