here is a original BILLY MONTELLA JR. (RHODE ISLAND ARTIST) plein aire oil painting on stretched canvas set in a thick 2 1/2" dark wood frame. signed in back of canvas this painting is part of the "QUONSET POINT SERIES" and has ship name, artist name, and a few other notations. this is a large oil on canvas measuring 22 3/4" x 19 3/4" and frame measurements are 24 7/8" x 22" x 2 1/2" deep.  no damage to painting, spot on back is not water damage but from the actual painting by artist. wood frame has a few tiny negligible brush marks in a few spots nothing major please view all pics and read full item condition.

Billy Montella, Jr. comes from a family of historically important American Painters and Sculptors.

His father was a well-known jewelry designer of fine jewelry for trade and the motion picture industry.

His great cousin, Aristide Cianfroni, was the sculptor and runner up for creating the Lincoln Memorial.

His father, 3 uncles, 2 cousins and Billy himself studied at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Billy’s investment collectible works were exhibited at the Art Museum in Amsterdam as one of the top Traditional American Painters. His works also hangs in the U.S. Senate and was displayed at the 67th and 83rd annual Grand National Exhibit.  In total, Billy has participated in 58 art shows and has won 17 regional and national awards.

The Courthouse is pleased to display the many works of Mr. Montella with an Opening Reception on September 25 at 6:00 pm. The Center’s Art Gallery is also open prior to the wide variety of events and concerts scheduled in the Courthouse Theater through October.
