Lot of receipts associated with Elijah Keeler (1756-1835) of Middlebury, Vermont and his family. Keeler was born in Ridgefield, CT and served in the Revolutionary War before settling in Addison County, Vermont.
Most of the items in this collection are receipts made out to Elijah Keeler from various parties. Based on the dates of the receipts, some of the receipts may have been intended for his son, Elijah Keeler III (1780-1844). Also included are receipts related to the estate of David Allen, whose widow Keeler later married. There are also a few later receipts in this lot from the same location and time period that may or may not be related to the Keelers.
